Orthopedic Massage Therapy Services

Orthopedic Massage Therapy is not a specific technique.  It is a comprehensive, systematic approach to treating musculoskeletal conditions.  Therapists who are trained and certified in orthopedic massage are highly skilled individuals with advanced knowledge in treatment techniques for pain and injury conditions.  When administrating Orthopedic Massage Therapy, the orthopedic massage therapist uses orthopedic assessment skills to effectively identify the nature of the presenting pathologic condition.  Assessment skills will also help the therapist to determine how or whether to work and identify conditions that should be referred to other qualified health care professionals.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is used to release myofascial restrictions in the muscles. It can also break up restrictive scar tissue, increase range of motion, relieve chronic tension, and restore length and flexibility to the fascia.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a mixture of stretching and hands-on treatment used to relieve constrictions in the musculoskeletal system. It is effective in treating chronic fatigue, postural distortions, and repetitive stress injuries of the soft tissue of the body.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy (Trigger Point) is a specialized form of manual therapy. It uses static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain and balance the Central Nervous System. It is used to relieve muscle spasms, decrease chronic pain, increase flexibility, and enhance mobility.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage is a light pressure massage with the use of specific hand positions and directional flow, used to enhance the function of the body’s own lymphatic system. It stimulates the lymph nodes, helps to clear any blockages, frees the body of toxins, and assists in creating a strong immune system.
